If the battery compartment of your FYTA Beam is difficult to open and you cannot get a grip on the smooth cover, try the following method:
Take a teaspoon and place it on the right side of the lower tab of the cover.
Hold the spoon in place with your left thumb.
Gently press to the left with your right hand.
This method should allow you to open the battery compartment safely and without damage.
