FYTA Terra - Changing the batteries

This is how you chance the batteries of your FYTA Terra

Updated yesterday

The FYTA Terra runs on two AA batteries. We recommend using only NiMH rechargeable batteries – the sensor automatically recharges them via its built-in solar panel.

How to replace the batteries:

  1. Unscrew the ground stakes.

  2. Remove the screw on the housing with a screwdriver.

  3. Pull the lower part of the housing downwards and slide it off.

  4. Replace the batteries.

  5. Slide the housing back on and tighten the screw.

  6. Reattach the ground stakes.

  7. Push the Terra back into the ground – it will resume operation immediately.

Which batteries are compatible?

  • NiMH rechargeable batteries (recommended): Automatically recharged via the solar panel.

  • ⚠️ Alkaline batteries: Work in general, but won't be recharged.

  • Li-Ion batteries (1.5 V): Please do not use. The FYTA Terra is permanently used outdoors and can heat up significantly in direct sunlight. Li-Ion batteries are sensitive to high temperatures and may become damaged or pose a safety risk. In addition, the Terra's charging electronics are designed exclusively for NiMH batteries.
